Canadian Museum for Human Rights

Viola Desmond was a young black woman who stood up against racial injustice by taking a seat in the white section of a segregated movie theatre in Nova Scotia. Our campaign for the Canadian Museum for Human Rights reflected the importance of civil rights to the idea of Canada itself.
