Viola Desmond was a young black woman who stood up against racial injustice by taking a seat in the white section of a segregated movie theatre in Nova Scotia. Our campaign for the Canadian Museum for Human Rights reflected the importance of civil rights, and the support of it by Canadians showing their solidarity.
